Watercolor Valentine Card Making Workshop with Cindy Sarkady & Jayna Hintz

Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 9:30am-12:00pm. Class free is $38 per person, $35 for PAC Members. Pre-registration is required by February 1st in order to have supplies ready.

Join Cindy and Jayna for a relaxing morning creating watercolor cards for your own personalized Valentine greetings. Each student will have the opportunity to make 3-5 cards and a practice page. Most supplies included– bring your own watercolors tube paints (Winsor Newton or Holbein are recommended) & synthetic-bristle brush. size 4 and 10. *Coffee and a pastry will be served.

By day, Cindy Sarkady works for UW Madison Division of Extension as an administrator. However, her passion is watercolors. She has been painting for over 40 years and sold her first painting when she was 15.  She has hung in two gallery shows in Illinois and recently, she has illustrated two children's books. Jax Dreams of    Heaven  by author Tammy Stuhr came out last year. Jax Dreams of Heaven  and Jax Finds His Talent  will be out before Christmas. Since illustrating the children's books, she has been taking more art classes and wanting to share her passion with others through teaching workshops.

Jayna Hintz brings twenty-three years of experience in nonprofit program development and management for all life stages and abilities. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Art Therapy with honors from Saint Mary-of-the Woods College and Bachelor of Science degree in Fine Arts from UW-Madison. Examples of professional experiences, personal passion, and advocacy include making the arts accessible in her community. Jayna initiated programs and presented at national conferences in the following areas:

  • Multisensory creative engagement programs for individuals with low vision and blindness.
  • Cultivating coordinating & instructing programs for individuals with memory loss & their care partners.
  • Art and literacy-based curricula for Head Start.
  • Dept. of Public Instruction Art Connections program focused on improving adolescents’ self-identity.
  • Bereavement art based collaborative programs with Hospice organizations.
  • Self-care and mindfulness workshops combining art and yoga.
  • Self-care and mindfulness through art workshops
  • Watercolor classes at community Centers, Libraries and Bookshops
