Workshop overview:
What is gouache? It is an opaque, water-based paint that shares some similarities with watercolor but has key differences: More opacity, it dries to a flat matte finish,
Reactive ability to rewet after drying, and blending and correction to paint over mistakes. Gouache can be used with other mediums including watercolor, pen and ink, acrylic, and colored pencil/pastel.
Learn the techniques for gouache painting dark to light methods, layering and opacity control, dry brush and texturing, glazing, and scumbling.
We will practice forms and work on a final piece based on an image of your choice.
