About the Artist: Kathy Plahmer was greatly influenced by her great-grandmother's black ash baskets that were made at the Lac du Flambeau reservation in Northern Wisconsin. She has seized every opportunity to study with local and national instructors in order to learn the art of weaving with a variety of materials, stylistic types and designs. She has been weaving for approximately 25 years and has taught these skills to others for about 20 years. She has tried to plan projects for cross-generation opportunities and she hopes to continue spreading awareness of this fascinating art form to many more!
