ABOUT ABOUT

What is contemporary collage?  Collage is the cut, the tear, the rupture and the overlay of our contemporary culture.  It is the hybrid language of urbanity-remixed,  re-contextualized, and wholly built from the fragments of daily life.

Collage gained popularity in the 20th Century through the work of cubists, Picasso and Braque.  The art form opened the door to deconstructing ideas and images to create new compositions.   Over the years, the range of collage has become extensive and innovative to include your basic cut and paste to using digital software manipulations.  In this workshop, you will be introduced to various ways of using the artistic approach to collage making as well learning about collage artists.Workshop is designed for ages 15 and up.

$40 per person, ($35 for PAC members)

Pre-registration is required by August 16th.
