PILGRIMS & PIRATES LOVE @ 25
Plymouth Arts Center proudly presents “An Evening of Keith Abler & Friends…Pilgrims & Pirates Love @ 25, Friday and Saturday February 9th and 10th, 2018 at 7:30pm.” This show is a fundraiser for the Arts Center as it celebrates its 25th Anniversary Year. All funds will benefit the Plymouth Arts Center and its ongoing mission, which is: To Enliven the spirit of our community and to Enrich the lives of all by providing diverse experiences in the arts! The performances will include recognizable songs of love, unique satire, Valentine favorites, and Keith’s original greatest hits. Tickets for reserved table seating are $25 (plus tax) per person and includes one complimentary martini or glass of wine and snacks. Don’t miss this great opportunity for an evening of fantastic music and martinis! Only 150 tickets will be sold for each performance.
Keith’s inaugural Plymouth Arts Center show, entitled “Live Art,” was presented in 2001. Since that time, Keith Abler and Friends have generously presented numerous fundraising concerts for the benefit of the PAC. Performers for this concert, “An Evening with Keith Abler & Friends, Pilgrims & Pirates..Love @ 25” are: Keith Abler, Luke Abler, Brian Augustine, Larry Baldock, Frank Gatyas, Cindy Howley, Bob McManus, Amy Schmidt, John Stoll, and Tim and Patty Talen.
Keith Abler, is a vocalist, songwriter, and instrumentalist who has been composing and performing music since 1966. In the late-'60s-early-'70s he recorded with the Love Society and Phase III bands before releasing his solo debut album, “Pilgrim,” in 1975. In 1974, the Sunblind Lion 6-piece rock band formed, and between 1974 and 1980, they recorded and released “Observer,” “Above and Beyond,” and “Live Lion.” Keith wrote or co-wrote all of the material for the band Gilbert & the Pirates’ 1996 album “Go Easy.” Over his long musical career Keith has performed with various other groups such as, Les Sax and His Musical Pirates, KEBO, The Tiki Bar Six, Abler & Bernico, Flashback, and many more. He has recorded and released nine cd’s of his original compositions in addition to the recent Sunblind Lion album, “Sanatorium.” He currently performs locally and regionally with the bands, Skyhouse, the Abler Boys, and Sunblind Lion. He’s also member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church’s Folk Group and Youth Theatre Company.
